Work on the neighbourhood greenway - a shared vehicle, walking and cycling space - at the northern end of Parliament Street is now complete (as of 25 February 2025).

This area has been made more user friendly as it will eventually play a key part in linking Te Ara Tupua with shared pathways that will be built as part of Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi.

The work, delivered by the NZ Transport Agency, included installation of a new fence along the rail corridor and access point for KiwiRail, and some changes to the road layout.
