What is an Alliance?

An alliance is a different way of working together, compared to traditional construction contracts. It is a collaborative team made up of design and construction companies, working together with partners to deliver the programme and achieve the best outcomes for the community.

Alliances are used to deliver complex and challenging projects like Te Awa Kairangi. Alliances in New Zealand have been used to deliver projects such as Pukeahu National War Memorial Park, Te Ara Tupua, the Waterview Tunnel, Te Ahu a Turanga – the Manawatū Tararua Highway and City Rail Link. The model promotes innovation and flexibility and helps drive value for money.
